Blazen Illuminations Backyard LED Fireflies
Remember the days when you were a kid and you used to chase fireflies or lightning bugs around your backyard or down by the lake? They were such a rare site and you wish they would stay. Now you can have that wonderful magical feeling of having fireflies in you backyard. Local LED specialists, Blazen Illuminations, have released their new battery operated “LED Fireflies”. “Bring the relaxing sights of summer to your backyard with our LED Fireflies. Designed to be hung from trees and trellises, they move in the wind to create a realistic firefly effect.” said Nate Webb President of Blazen Illuminations LLC, based in Loveland Colorado.
Originally designed for Group Publishing and their new “Crocodile Dock” Vacation Bible School curriculum, the fireflies are a great part of the bayou themed VBS environments being used in churches across the country. “Our patent pending firefly technology allowed us to meet the development requirements Group’s purchasing department placed on us. We were asked to make a small group of fireflies that can be simple to use, quickly setup, and sell for less than thirty five dollars. Considering that every other firefly light set on the market sells for more than eighty dollars for only six fireflies we had a really fun challenge ahead of us.” said Nate Webb
Unlike other firefly movement that is powered by fans or other mechanical means, the Blazen Illuminations fireflies are moved by the wind. A small plastic bug, complete with wings, is attached to each LED to provide the “sail” that catches the wind and adds a realistic look to the fireflies. Similar firefly techniques are used in Disney theme parks around the world.
Each battery operated string comes with twelve LED fireflies so you can create a very dramatic effect of fireflies anywhere indoors or out. The unique string design allows the fireflies to be strung across trellises or in a tree and they will always be randomly placed to look like a small group of fireflies. A solar version is in the works and will be available soon.
“We hope to get these lights into retail stores along the Front Range. Currently you can purchase them from the Group Outlet online, and they will be available in local stores soon.” – Nate Webb
